The Plumbline
The Plumbline,
the monthly publication of the Presbyterian Student Center (PresHouse) at Georgia
Southwestern State University was initially begun 4 years ago.
Playfully based
on the university's weekly announcements called The Pipeline, takes its name from Amos 7:8 which states: "The Lord
was standing beside a wall built with a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in hand"
.
Because a
plumbline is used to create level spaces, The Plumbline was designed, in
essence, to reveal the way in which this particular campus ministry creates
"level spaces" or hospitable spaces for reflection, growth, discernment, prayer
and service -- all of which lead to "level lives".
By describing
its campus ministry events through thoughtful writing and colorful pictures, The Plumbline strives to show Flint River Presbyterians the way in which
this particular campus ministry embodies the 7 Great Ends of the Church, as
described in our Book of Order.
The publication
continues to be a joint effort by Rev. Deb Bibler and current GSW student. |
